FLUSHING, NY – The Hunter College men's tennis team saw its quest for a three-peat CUNYAC/HSS Championship dashed this afternoon as archrival Baruch College handed the Hawks a 5-1 loss at the USTA National Tennis Center on Thursday evening.
“It was a tough loss for us obviously; we came into this hoping to come out with a victory but unfortunately that wasn't the case. We'll take this experience and learn from it for next year,” said Head Coach
Eric Metzger.
The Bearcats jumped ahead 2-1 following doubles play after
Damen Ellingson and
Irving Salazar fell 8-1 as Christopher Jenkins and Stephan Muller of Baruch earned the win at second doubles. At third doubles, Bearcats Philip Bleustein and Joe Laskowski got past

In singles action, Jenkins defeated Ellingson 6-1 and 6-0 at third singles. The Bearcats got another win at sixth singles as Laskowski stormed past Salazar, 6-1 in both sets.
