Farmingdale, NY - The men's cross country team raced to an impressive fifth place showing out of 22 competing teams. They put two in the top-30 individually and as a team, had the best showing out of all the other Division III schools there. Finally, they were the highest finishing CUNYAC institution at the races.
Hunter was paced by
Brian Guillermo once again. The newcomer lowered his personal 8k best substantially after clocking in at 27:23 which was good enough for a 10th place overall finish. Next across the line for the Purple and Gold was
Alexander Niyazov who also set a personal best at the course with a time of 28:49 to place 26th.
Kyle Harris made his return in a Hunter uniform and broke the 30 minute barrier with an effort of 29:54 to check in at 48th.
Rounding out the five-man contingent was
Robert Novo and
Felix Wong. Novo was 63rd with a time of 30:38 while Wong was five spots and five seconds behind with 30:43.
The Harriers return to action on Saturday, October 16 when they head to Sunken Meadow State Park for a meet hosted by St. Joseph's.
