Patchogue, N.Y.- The Hunter College men's cross country team traveled to Saint Joseph's College Long Island this weekend, taking a third place team score out of 20 in the men's 8,000 meter race for it's final race of the regular season.
The Hawks posted a team score of 107, just three points under the runner-up host, who finished with a team score of 104. Saint Thomas Acquinas placed first, with a total score of 84.
Reigning CUNYAC Rookie of the Week, Mateo Penafiel was the top finished for Hunter, crossing the tape in 28:46.65 for an 11th place overall finish. Not far behind was
Brian Guillermo, who clocked in at 29:01.01 for a 14th place finish.
Alexander Niyazov also ran for the Purple and Gold, placing 21st out of 177 runners with a time of 29:57.29. Also finishing in the top-50 was
Robert Novo who recorded a time of 31:34.18.
