New York, NY-   Hunter College Athletics and Recreation has named Gamal Abiona as the new Deputy Director.  Abiona comes to sportsplex from UMASS Boston where he was the Associate Athletic Director for Facilities and Operation, a post he held since 2017.  Abiona served on the Senior Leadership team at UMass Boston, providing leadership and oversight of all aspects of athletic facilities and events and coordinating all off-campus facility use. He was responsible for developing the athletic facilities' master planning initiatives in congruence with the university's master plan.
