John Garrett was named the new Associate Athletics Director for Recreation and Intramurals by
Terry Wansart, Director of Athletics, Intramurals and Recreation at Hunter College.
Garrett brings a wealth of experience to the program, he most recently served as the Assistant Athletic Director for Budget and Operations at SUNY Old Westbury where he oversaw the daily scheduling of all athletic facilities including intercollegiate contests, practices, intramurals, recreation and rentals. Garrett was also responsible for the overall athletic, recreation, and intramural budgets.
Prior to his role as Assistant Athletic Director, he worked in a variety of coaching and support staff roles including but not limited to an assistant coach with Men's Basketball, Head Men's and Women's Cross-Country Coach and the Interim Men's Golf Coach. Garrett has also served in the role of equipment manager, building operations, scheduling coordinator, and assistant recreation.
Garrett is also an adjunct professor in the Sports Management Program at Adelphi University teaching Athletic Administration for the past few years.
In 2003 Garrett received a B.A. in History/Secondary Education from Marist College and continued his education to receive his master's degree in Sports Management from Adelphi University in 2006. Garrett is a native of Queens, NY.
